Subaru Outback vs. Audi Allroad Performance
The 2016 Subaru Outback offers many options for you to choose from, but each offering provides great drivability. Choose between a 2.5i that comes with a 175-horsepower, 2.5-liter flat-4 engine or a 3.6-liter flat-6 that creates 256 horsepower. Each engine has a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) that handles very well. The Outback also handles well off-road and in all-weather conditions. Its all-wheel-drive system helps with low-traction surfaces and wheelspin.
The 2016 Audi Allroad comes with just one powertrain: the 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine that creates 220 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This is pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It handles well and accelerates quickly. Although it appears to be rugged, it doesn't handle well off-road.
Exterior and Interior Comparison
The 2016 Subaru Outback has a rugged exterior that borders the line between a large car and compact SUV. The grille is attractive and attention-catching, with the whole vehicle looking assertive and powerful, ready to take on those off-road challenges.Â
The 2016 Audi Allroad is a small wagon that looks rugged and sleek, but a little old fashioned. While the presence from the front view is strong, it gets lost from the side view. Within the cabin, it's comfortable and has nice interiors.
Features
The 2016 Subaru Outback is offered in three trim levels: 2.5i, Premium and Limited. While the standard equipment includes many necessary features, they increase with each trim level. The base model includes air conditioning, cruise control and power windows, locks and mirrors. The Premium level provides dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10-way power driver's seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and more. The Limited models have luxurious features such as leather seating, dual-mode heated rear seats and power-front passenger seat.
The base level 2016 Audi Allroad includes leather upholstery, aluminum interior trim, power front seats, a sun roof and multi-media interface. Upgrade to iPod/USB connectivity, adaptive headlights, Bluetooth, wood interior trim and more.
Safety
Subaru doesn't fail to deliver in the Outback which has received "Good" ratings from the IIHS and earned Top Safety Pick+. It also received five-star results in all crash-test ratings. Its active-safety features provide additional protection, such as the EyeSight system with lane-keep assist.
The Allroad has not been rated by the IIHS, but the NHTSA gave it five stars overall with five-star frontal and side-impact ratings. The Audi received a "Poor" rating in the small-overlap test.
