The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek and the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport are both great crossovers for daily drives throughout Syracuse, Liverpool and Oneida. If you're looking for a crossover for your family, or just yourself, one of these may be right for you-but which one?
Bill Rapp Subaru has created this guide that details the vehicle offerings of each car to help you decide. Check out this vehicle comparison below.
Subaru Crostrek vs. Mitsubishi Outlander Performance
The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek has an outstanding Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system that comes standard on all models. This system will ensure stability and confidence whether you're driving on tough road conditions or if you're taking a journey off-course. The handling is sturdy and capable of many different uses. Get a feel for it yourself by scheduling a test drive.
While the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport does offer an all-wheel drivetrain as an option, it is only available as an add-on and doesn't come standard with every model. There is a lack of power from its base engine and the steering and handling are lifeless.
Crosstrek vs. Outlander Exterior
The Subaru Crosstrek has a sleek and sporty exterior with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and 8.7 inches of ground clearance standard on all models. Up top, there are standard integrated roof rails for additional cargo capabilities, or you can open the power moonroof to let in some sun. It also has added protection, fender flares, and front and rear fascias for an updated look.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport hasn't been updated much since its debut, which leaves a lot to hope for. While it is not as handsome as the Crosstrek, it has a new grille and other minor styling updates to keep the model looking fresh compared to previous years.
2016 Subaru Crosstrek Interior vs. 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Interior
Within the cabin, the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek has 60/40-split fold-down rear seats, allowing for three in the back with both rear seatbacks up, or a fold down seat for extra cargo, so it's definitely roomy inside. Its impressive infotainment system provides a navigation system and even mobile apps for convenience.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has a lack of interior and cargo space with a loud cabin. Though it comes equipped with an infotainment system, mobile apps are not accessible through it. In addition, it does not allow you to add safety or security features.
Safety Awards
Subaru is known for their outstanding safety features, and the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek is no exception. Its slew of safety features includes EyeSight ® technology, Pre-Collision Warning, Braking Systems and Adaptive Cruise Control to assist the driver and help prevent accidents. It was also named a Top Safety Pick+ for 2016 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport does not have the advanced safety technologies that the Subaru Crosstrek does, and was only recognized as a Top Safety Pick.Â
