Subaru Forester Specs

When it comes to all-wheel drive cars that are made for both families as well as outdoor enthusiasts, Subaru steps up every time. Crossovers like the Subaru Forester offer performance fit for both camping on the weekends and shopping around Syracuse, Oneida, and Liverpool.

To dive into this year's model and see what it's capable of, the team at Bill Rapp Subaru has put together this review of the Subaru Forester specs.

Subaru Forester Power & Drivetrain

The Subaru Forester is a versatile, family-friendly crossover that features a robust engine fully capable of powering it through your next adventure. The piece of machinery under the hood is a 2.5L DOHC SUBARU BOXER® engine. You can look forward to this engine producing as much as 182 horsepower and generating up to 176 lb-ft of torque.

There are two options for the transmission to pair with this engine. Standard is a Lineartronic® CVT (Continually Variable Transmission) with Adaptive Control for an intuitive driving experience when you're on the road.

The available transmission is also a Lineartronic® CVT. In addition to the Adaptive Control, this transmission also comes with a 7-speed manual mode to provide even more control over the drive.

Subaru Forester Performance

With the intelligent design and power under the hood, you can be confident the Subaru Forester will be fully capable in any situation.

The above performance attributes give it the power to tow a lot of weight. When properly equipped, it provides a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds, enough to pull a small camper or trailer.

The CVT technology is designed to maximize efficiency in both the engine and with fuel consumption. This allows the Subaru Forester to get an EPA-estimated 26 city/33 highway MPG.

Subaru Forester Capability & Design

Versatility was built into the Subaru Forester-all the way down to its core. The chassis rests on a 4-wheel independent suspension. The front is a strut-type with lower L-arm, while the rear suspension features a double wishbone design. On top of that, both ends feature a stabilizer bar.

The Forester also handles well thanks to its 105.1-inch wheelbase. The Electric Power-Assisted Rack and Pinion Steering helps its 17 x 7-inch steel wheels pull a full turning circle in 35.4 feet.

The height of those wheels also helps with its ability to conquer off-road adventures, too. The Subaru Forester has a ground clearance of 8.7 inches to get through streams and over rocks and logs.

Test Drive the Subaru Forester

For drivers in Liverpool, Syracuse, and Oneida, there's no question the Subaru Forester offers reliability in a versatile crossover. It's great for both exploring and everyday use.
