The Subaru Forester has made a name for itself in the Syracuse, Oneida, and Liverpool areas, and for good reason. This compact SUV is an ideal vehicle for all kinds of drivers. Its reliability and high-tech advancements make it great for everyone from college students to small families. With a wide range of configurations, this vehicle can be adjusted to suit your specific needs.

Bill Rapp Subaru is here to show you how you can make the most of these configurations with our Subaru Forester configurations guide. With this guide, you'll see how this versatile compact SUV can help you elevate your drives. Let's get started by taking a look at the performance.

Forester Performance Configurations

Under the hood of the Subaru Forester, you are going to find one engine across all trims. The 2.5L SUBARU BOXER®engine can generate up to 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque, providing you with optimal power for an array of driving situations.

This engine is paired with the standard Lineartronic® CVT (Continually Variable Transmission). This advanced equipment gives you Adaptive Control for easy and smooth drives. If you're one for customization when driving or prefer a manual transmission, opt for the Sport or Touring trim. These trims include the same transmission but also have a 7-speed manual mode.

All trims come standard with the well-known Subaru Symmetrical AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system, so tackling harsh weather and off-road terrain is a breeze.

Subaru Forester Cargo Configurations

Inside the Forester, you'll have ample space in the rear. Though cargo room configurations vary slightly between trims, you'll still have all the room you need for your next road trip or run to the grocery store.

Standardly, the Forester comes with 31.1 cubic feet of cargo room when all the seats are in their upright position. This can be easily expanded by simply folding down the second row, which increases the space to a whopping 76.1 cubic feet.

However, in the higher trims (Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring) the cargo space is slightly smaller. When the seats are upright, the cargo room for these trims is 28.9 cubic feet with all the seats upright and 70.9 cubic feet when they are folded down.

Subaru Forester Interior Configurations

Similar to the cargo space, the interiors of the Subaru Forester trims vary. In the standard model, you will be met with 111.9 cubic feet of passenger room. This includes 41.2 inches of headroom, 43.3 inches of legroom, and a shoulder space of 58.2 inches in the front. Passengers in the back will have a headroom of 39.6 inches, a legroom of 39.4 inches, and 57.2 inches of shoulder room.

For the other models, passenger space measures in at 107.8 cubic with the following dimensions:

  • Headroom (front/rear): 40.2 inches / 37.7 inches
  • Legroom (front/rear): 43.3 inches / 39.4 inches
  • Shoulder Room (front/rear): 58.2 inches / 57.2 inches
