Subaru Ascent Engine Specs & Performance
The Ascent offers a strong and efficient performance with its 2.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged Subaru BOXER® engine. This engine lays flat under the hood and includes horizontally opposed valves, which works to power the vehicle's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The engine comes mated to a Lineartronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) that aims to improve fuel efficiency through direct gear transitions and smoother accelerations. As for performance, the engine is able to boast an impressive 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, which allows the Ascent to tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Cabin Space & Capacity
The Subaru Ascent cabin offers 153.5 cubic feet of passenger volume across three rows of seating. The passengers up front get 41.3 inches of headroom and 42.2 inches of legroom while middle-row passenger will have 40 inches of headroom and 38.6 inches of legroom. Riders in the back row get 36.2 inches of headroom and 31.7 inches of legroom.
The Ascent also includes 43.5 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row. When the second and third rows are folded flat, the vehicle offers 75.6 cubic feet of total cargo volume. Â Â
Entertainment & Safety Technology
The Ascent cabin has plenty of sophisticated features to help you get more out of your routine trips. It comes standard with the STARLINK® 6.5-inch Multimedia Plus screen. This screen gives you access to your media options and allows you to sync your phone through Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, which keeps you connected on the road.
The Ascent also includes the Subaru EyeSight® system. This driver-assisting suite of technology uses exterior cameras to measure your speed, lane position, and proximity to other cars. The features will provide a warning and use braking mitigation to assist you with preventing an accident.
